Advantech is proud to announce a new patient infotainment terminal, the PIT-1702, designed to address the high demand and fast growing bedside entertainment market for hospitals and home healthcare. Prior to developing the standard bedside terminal series, Advantech worked with solution partners in Norway, Ireland, Hong Kong and many other countries, helping them install custom patient infotainment terminals integrated with medical IT systems.
Advantech's patient infotainment terminal, the PIT-1702, is a 17" multi-function terminal with touchscreen, WiFi, RFID, handset option, smart card reader, and 1.3 megapixel CMOS camera. The PIT-1702 is certified to UL60601-1 and EN60601-1 medical standards. With a built-in Intel® Celeron® M or Core™2 Duo 1.06 GHz processor and Microsoft Windows XP Embedded software, the PIT-1702 provides patients with various entertainment programs. The 1.3 megapixel camera, WiFi, and Ethernet (RJ-45) connectivity provides video phone service to help patients communicate with their families by internet.
Identification recognition for both patients and hospital staff is made possible with RFID and a smart card reader. Two USB ports, an earphone jack and a microphone provide added flexibility. Additionally, an LED light indicator and nurse call button help alert hospital staff to important incidents. Equipped with a slim, clean, hospital-fit design, the PIT-1702 is sealed with an IP65 -certified front panel with IPX1 drip-proof approval. There is a side-cover to prevent patient access, and a VESA compliant for mounting the support arm.
The all-in-one interactive bedside terminal makes hospital stays easier by providing the same multimedia entertainment and communication choices people enjoy at home, such as telephone, TV, radio, movies, games and the internet. The patient experience is enhanced by intranet access, providing them with access to relevant education on their condition, information on their care-giver team, and hospital information, as well as helping
them keep in touch with family and friends through video-conferencing, Skype, and instant messaging.
Advantech's patient infotainment terminal also benefits medical staff by providing secure access to electronic patient data with an optimized hospital workflow. As an aid to professional diagnosis, the terminal can remotely retrieve electronic patient records, access databases from the bedside and comply with Hospital Information Systems (HIS) requirements. Hospital administrators will see their medical facilities gain operational efficiencies, increase patient and visitor satisfaction, and improve their quality of care, while boosting profitability.
With an increasing number of hospitals and healthcare institutes working on delivering a better patient experience, Advantech PIT-1702 brings extensive technology and experience to the healthcare industry. Advantech welcomes partners to integrate the PIT-1702 Patient Infotainment Terminal with a full set of peripherals to make it easier for hospital and healthcare professionals to provide safe, high-quality bedside care.
